Ramesh Sippy's son Rohan Sippy and Sanjay Dutt's nephew Nilesh Sahay will be collaborating for the action-comedy film Iss Diwali, according to a Variety report. The film, written by Nilesh, is set in the backdrop of the festival of Diwali and is touted to have political themes. Casting for the film is currently underway.
The film is presented by industry veterans, producer Ramesh Sippy and former actor Zaheeda, and is produced by Rohan Sippy, Roopa De Choudhury, Brajesh Sahaya and Nilesh Sahay. More details from the project are awaited.
Rohan is known for directing films like Bluffmaster! (2005), Dum Maaro Dum (2011), and Nautanki Saala (2013). He also served as the showrunner for the Netflix series Aranyak. He recently co-directed the mystery-thriller show Shekhar Home, which is an adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories.
Nilesh is known for writing, directing and producing the 2021 action-thriller Squad, which was released directly on ZEE5 in November 2021.
Iss Diwali is scheduled to hit the theatres in 2025.
