Shoojit Sircar opened up recently about how Abhishek Bachchan used to get ‘emotional’ about his daughter Aaradhya while filming some scenes of I Want To Talk. The film tells the story of a complex father-daughter bond and released in theatres on November 22.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan on YouTube, Shoojit talked about one scene in the film where Abhishek made a hand gesture out of improvisation that really impressed him. “The moment he did that, I went and hugged him. I said what you did now, shows your respect towards women, shows that you respect her (on-screen daughter). It was an incredible gesture. And I didn’t ask him to do that. He did it on his own,” said Shoojit.

He added that Abhishek would get a lot emotional on set. “Because he is also a father. There are many scenes where he was very emotional. I have daughters and he also has a daughter. It will reflect in his work. When he sees that he is playing a father, and he is a father in real life too, he has a daughter at home, there will be some co-existence. He would relate. I know, sometimes, he would not tell me, but I know he was affected by it,” he said.

The film marks Abhishek’s first collaboration with the director. It also stars Ahilya Bamroo, Jayant Kripalani, Johnny Lever, Kristin Goddard in pivotal roles.
