Pratik Gandhi’s Dedh Bigha Zameen gets a release date

The film is helmed by Bhakshak director Pulkit

Pratik Gandhi’s Dedh Bigha Zameen will be released on JioCinema on May 31, the makers announced on Saturday. It is helmed by Pulkit whose last directorial was the Bhumi Pednekar starrer Bhakshak. It also stars Khushali Kumar in a pivotal role. The film is produced by Shaailesh R Singh, Suunil Jain, Hitesh Thakkar.

Sharing the announcement with a poster of the film featuring Pratik, the makers wrote, “Jab baat behen ki ho, tab bhai har hadd paar kar jayega! (When its about his sister, a brother will cross all limits) Dedh Bigha Zameen coming soon, exclusively on JioCinema Premium.” Director Pulkit shared the poster as well and wrote, “Our labour of love, a long wait for this one but trust me, this small film is very special. Watch it on @officialjiocinema from May 31st.”

The film is set in a small town of Uttar Pradesh and follows the story of a "dignified struggle of a common man" to win his land back. The title of the film takes inspiration from the 1953 film by Bimal Roy, Do Bigha Zameen.

Pratik was last seen in Do Aur Do Pyaar alongside Vidya Balan. He also starred in the caper comedy Madgaon Express, which was directed by Kunal Kemmu.
