‘I am heartbroken’: Riteish Deshmukh remembers filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan

The actor worked with him on films like Kya Kool Hai Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money

Riteish Deshmukh took to X on Wednesday to mourn the death of filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan. He has collaborated with the director on films like Kya Kool Hai Hum (2005) and Apna Sapna Money Money (2006).

Sangeeth passed away on Wednesday at the age of 65. He breathed his last in a private hospital in Mumbai where he was undergoing treatment.

Writing about his experience of working with him, Riteish wrote, “Deeply saddened and shocked to know that Sangeeth Sivan Sir is no more. As a newcomer all you want is someone to believe in you and take a chance. Can’t thank him enough for Kya Kool Hai Hum & Apna Sapna Money Money.”

He added, “Soft spoken, gentle and a wonderful human being. I am heart-broken today, my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, his wife, kids, brothers. I will miss you Da!! And your infectious laughter! Rest in Glory.”

Sangeeth last directed the 2019 horror series for ZEE5 titled Bhram, starring Kalki Koechlin and Bhumika Chawla. He was recently working on the Hindi remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Romancham (2023), with Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor as the leads.
