Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan will be released on Netflix on May 4, the makers announced on Friday. The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, also stars R. Madhavan, Jyotika, Janki Bodiwali and Aangad Maaholay. It is based on an original story written by Krishnadev Yagnik for the Gujarati film, Vash (2023), that is adapted in Hindi by Aamil Keeyan Khan.

The film tells the story of Ajay’s family who face trouble when Madhavan’s character turns up at their home and does black magic on Ajay’s daughter. The family tries to fight away evil and stop the possession of their daughter’s mind, as problems escalate and intensify.

Sharing the poster of the film to make the announcement, the makers wrote in the caption, “Ghar ke darwaze band rakhna, kahi Shaitaan na aa jaye. (Keep the doors to your houses closed for ‘Shaitaan’ may come inside). Shaitaan starts streaming midnight, on Netflix!”

Shaitaan is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. Our review of the film read, “Shaitaan is intense without intent. It is also impatient. It jumps from one terrifying scene to another because it seems unsatisfied with the “terror” registering with the audience. This is a loud film which goes bonkers because it just can.”
