Actor Pallavi Joshi nominated as a member of the Film and Television Institute of India

Actor Pallavi Joshi got nominated as a member of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) recently. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry of the government of India released orders. Her tenure will be in effect from March 8, 2024 to September 3, 2026. In pursuance of Rule 3 (1) (11) of the Rules of FTII, the Government of India nominated Pallavi as the 'Persons of eminence' as a Member of the FTII Society.

Along with Pallavi, other members in the panel consist of journalist Anant Vijay, film producer Jadumoni Dutta, classical singer Padmaja Phenany Joglekar, veteran actors Manoj Joshi and Nishigandha Wad. Director Milind Lele and actor Amrita Raichand are also among the ones included in the panel.

As an actor, Pallavi started her journey in films as a child artist. She gained wider recognition after acting in some parallel films in the 1980s including the Kannada film Bhujangayyana Dashavathara (1988), the Hindi film Rihaee (1988) and Rukmavati Ki Haveli (1991). She was last seen in films directed by her filmmaker husband Vivek Agnihotri including, The Kashmir Files (2019) and The Vaccine War (2023). She also won a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the former.
