Aamir Khan opened up recently about casting actor Karan Deol in his upcoming production Lahore 1947. He said that Karan’s sincerity brings many things to the table. Karan essays the role of Javed in the film for which he auditioned some days ago. The period-drama stars Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in the lead and is directed by Rajkumar Santhoshi.

Speaking of the decision to cast Karan in the film, Aamir said in a press release, "I am so happy that Karan has done so well for the extremely critical role of Javed. His natural innocence, sincerity, and honesty bring a lot to the table."

He added, "Karan has really applied himself, worked hard, done workshops with Adishakti, rehearsals with Raj, and is giving his best. Javed is a great part, a very challenging part, and I am sure that with Raj Santoshi to direct him, Karan will nail it."

Earlier, the shooting of the film began with Santosh Sivan serving as the cinematographer. The film marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, Andaz Apna Apna (1994).
