Divya Khossla headliner Savi has made Rs 5.3 crore in its first week at the box office, as per reports. The film has been directed by Abhinay Deo, who has earlier helmed films like Blackmail (2018), Delhi Belly (2011) and Force 2 (2016). It also stars Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Rane in pivotal roles.

As per Sacnilk. com, Savi opened on Friday with Rs 1.6 crore, followed by Rs 1.8 crore and Rs 1.9 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The film is about a homemaker Savi (Divya) who is put into action when her husband, played by Harshvardhan, is jailed for a murder he didn’t commit. Anil’s character helps her in the conquest to break into prison and rescue her husband from death threats emerging in the prison. The film is said to be a modern retelling of the folk tale of princess Sati Savitri and prince Satyavan.

Savi is produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. Its music has been composed by Vishal Mishra, Javed-Mohsin, Piyush Shankar and Arkadeep Karmakar. It notably features the last song sung by the late KK, who passed away last year. The film released in theatres on May 31.
