Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan’s wedding reception was held in Mumbai on Saturday and it was a starry affair. The event was attended by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Gauri Khan, Anil Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya, Jaya Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Babil Khan, Mukesh Ambani, Zoya Akhtar, Ranbir Kapoor and Sachin Tendulkar among others.

Ira registered her marriage with longtime partner Nupur Shikhare, who is a celebrity fitness trainer earlier in January. The couple then flew to Udaipur to have their wedding in a Christian style.

A day before this grand reception for industry folks, Aamir also held a special lunch for the members of the media. On this occasion, he even spoke about his daughter Ira taking the plunge. He said, “My emotion was like a shehnai, it is an instrument played at weddings, it has a quality that gives you a little happiness, but a little sadness too. It has a mixture of emotions, that’s how I felt.”

Ira met Nupur during the lockdown when he was training Aamir Khan, and the two have been dating for the last three years. Aamir’s daughter has been a mental health advocate who also runs an NGO.
