Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently opened up about his latest release, Vanvaas and said that he wanted to make a film like that at this point in his life. It stars Nana Patekar, Utkarsh Sharma, Simratt Kaur Randhawa, Kushboo Sundar, Rajpal Yadav, and Ashwini Kalsekar.

In an interview, the director revealed that after Gadar 2, he wanted to make a personal film. "I thought Gadar had given me so much. Now, as a director, my job is to make a family film that I can give to the audience.”

He added, "While I was thinking of making Vanvaas, I also got a call from Nana asking, 'Now you will do this film, or you will start some big action film?' I told him I would do it, and with Nana Sir only, because I feel like doing it with him; we had already talked about it during Gadar 2. I just wanted to make Vanvaas at this point in my life.”

The film is produced by Suman Sharma, with Kamlesh Kanungo, Gaurav Agrawal, Rohit Choudhary & Jawahar Lal serving as co-producers. It released in theatres on December 20.
