The trailer for Manoj Bajpayee’s Despatch was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. It is directed by Kanu Behl, who is known for making gritty films like Agra (2023) and Titli (2015). It is written by Ishani Banerjee and Kanu and also stars Shahana Goswami, Arrchita Agarwaal and Ritu Parna Sen in pivotal roles.

The trailer introduces Manoj as Joy, a print journalist who is on the look out for a breakout story for the front page of his newspaper, Despatch. He comes across a big scam and decides to uncover it, facing multiple dead ends as he goes deeper. He is threatened by gangsters and businessmen to not follow the story, yet he keeps pursuing it while facing some obstacles on the personal front.

The film had its premiere earlier at the MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival and was also screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa recently.

Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, it is set to be released on ZEE5 on December 13.
