Ajay Devgn announced through social media that his film Raid 2 will release on May 1, 2025. A sequel to 2018's Raid, the film was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on February 21, 2025. Devgn reprises his role as IPS officer Amay Patnaik in the upcoming Raj Kumar Gupta directorial, which also stars Riteish Deshmukh as the antagonist.

Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar are producing the film through their T-Series banner, alongside Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak of Panorama Studios.

The 2018 film, also starring Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla, was based on an Income Tax raid from the 1980s. The sequel will also explore a based-on-real-life IT case, setting Devgn's character Amay Patnaik off on a new mission.

Rajat Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor also play key roles in the film. In the earlier release date announcement, the makers promised that the film would bring a blend of action, suspense, and intensity to the big screen.
