Janhvi Kapoor’s Ulajh struggles to keep its hold at the box-office on Day 4 as it collected a meagre Rs 60 lakhs on Monday, according to Sacnilk.com. Its total collection stands at Rs 5.50 crore (India Net). Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, the film also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyang Chang, Jitendra Joshi and Rajesh Tailang in pivotal roles

The film opened at the box-office on August 2 on a low-note as it made Rs 1.15 crore. The streak continued on Saturday and Sunday, as it minted Rs 1.75 crore and Rs 2 crore respectively. On Monday, the film had an overall occupancy of 10.78 percent.

This is Janhvi’s worst opening at the box office since Mili (2022), which made just Rs 50 lakh on Day 1. Her earlier release this year, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, which also starred Rajkummar Rao, earned over Rs 7 crore on the first day.

In Ulajh, Janhvi plays the role of Suhana Bhatia (Janhvi Kapoor), a young, ambitious girl who has been appointed as the youngest Deputy High Commissioner and she faces charges of nepotism against her.

It is produced by Vineet Jain and co-produced by Amrita Pandey.

CE's review of the film reads, “Ulajh comfortably saunters during its set-up. It gets the style, the sombre mood of a spy-drama. The sparse interiors, dimly lit with yellow lights, the grey London skies, all add up to create a bleak environment (production design by Mansi Dhruv Mehta). The cinematography (by Shreya Dev Dube) is impressive and captures the steely coldness of an espionage thriller. But it’s all surface-level since the storytelling doesn’t hold up. It’s more mood than meaning.”
