Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun turns 30, makers share video

Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s romantic-musical drama Hum Aapke Hain Koun completed 30 years since its release, the makers, Rajshri Films announced on Monday. Written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film also starred Mohnish Behl, Renuka Shahane, Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo, Anupam Kher, and Satish Shah in pivotal roles.

The makers shared a short video, giving a glimpse into the family entertainer. It has some important moments from the film that went on to become memorable since its release. In the caption, they wrote, “As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hum Aapke Hain Koun, let's revisit the full movie summed up in 1 min that redefined love and sacrifice.”

Hum Aapke Hain Koun celebrated Indian wedding traditions through the story of a married couple and the relationship between their families, emphasising the theme of sacrificing one's love for the sake of family. The film won two National Awards: one in the category of Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and another for Best Choreography to Jay Borade.

The film featured a 14-song soundtrack, consisting of instant hits like ‘Maye Ni Maye’, ‘Didi Tera Devar Deewana’, ‘Joote Do, Paise Lo’, ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar’ and ‘Wah Wah Ramji’. It was produced by Ajit Kumar Barjatya, Kamal Kumar Barjatya and Rajkumar Barjatya and was released in theatres on August 5 1994.
