It is being widely reported that Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari has roped in actress Sheeba Chadha for the role of Manthara in Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.

In Valmiki Ramayana, Manthara is the helper of Kaikeyi, mother of Bharat, who instigates her to act against Ram and conspires in his banishment to the forest.

Despite major information of the movie is being kept under wraps and the announcement has not been made official, reports about the project kept coming from reliable sources.

The ensemble cast is expected to comprise Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Indira Krishnan as Kausalya.

This yet-to-be-announced project has already managed turn the public eye towards it as these developments are coming less than a year of Adipurush, directed by Om Raut starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon, that bombed at the box-office. Adipurush was panned by critics for the screenplay, visuals and dialogues which didn't meet the standards of a film adaptation of an epic like Ramayana.
