Aamir Khan’s production banner Aamir Khan Productions announced a new film titled Lahore, 1947, which will star Sunny Deol in the lead role. The film will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

The film will also mark Aamir Khan Productions’ 17th venture under their banner.

Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have previously collaborated in three box office successes, including Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak.

It is to be noted that earlier Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan have had iconic box-office clashes as competitors in the past. The first was in 1990 when Aamir Khan’s Dil and Sunny Deol’s Ghayal released on the same day. In 1996, it was Raja Hindustani vs Ghatak followed by Lagaan and Gadar in 2001. It is to be noted that Lahore, 1947 is the first time the actors are joining hands for a project.

Lahore, 1947 also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, Andaz Apna Apna.
