Filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi, known for Dhoom and Dhoom 2, passed away on Sunday. The 57-year-old director reportedly suffered a heart attack leading to his demise. More details about his death are awaited. 

Sanjay started his career as a filmmaker with Tere Liye (2001), a low-budget film. After directing yet another small sophomore film, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002), the director went on to make Dhoom (2004) and Dhoom 2 (2006) which were blockbuster hits. The films starred actors like Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. 

Apart from these popular films, Sanjay also helmed Kidnap (2008) and Ajab Gazabb Love (2012). The former starred Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan in the lead roles. He last directed Operation Parindey in 2020, which starred Amit Sadh and Rahul Dev in lead roles. 

Sanjay Gadhvi is survived by his wife Gina and two daughters.
