SonyLIV unveiled the teaser of Chamak, the upcoming Hindi series, which is set to premiere on December 7.

As per the makers, Chamak follows the life of an aspiring young rapper Kaala who comes back to Punjab from Canada. As he unravels the death of Taara Singh – the legendary singer who was shot dead in the midst of a packed performance, the series follows Kaala steering his way through the underbelly of the Punjab music industry– through politics, business feuds, family history, and possible honor killings.

The series will feature 14 artists and 28 songs.

Talking about the series, Rohit Jugraj Chauhan said, "Chamak started with the single thought that no artist should be killed, whatever the reason might be. Music embodies art, and art, in turn, embodies love. Yet, the union of art and violence can lead to a cycle of bloodshed for generations to come.”

The series is created and directed by Rohit Jugraj Chauhan, and produced by Geetanjali Mehelwa Chauhan, Rohit Jugraj Chauhan and Sumeet Dubey. Chamak features an ensemble star cast including, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Manoj Pahwa, Gippy Garewal, Mohit Malik, Isha Talwar, Mukesh Chhabra, Prince Kanwaljit Singh,  Suvinder (Vicky) Pal, Akasa Singh.

Chamak will have songs by Gippy Grewal, Mika Singh, Malkit Singh, MC Square, Afsana Khan, Asees Kaur, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kanwar Grewal, Shashwat Singh, and Harjot Kaur.
