Actor Madhoo, who started her career with Azhagan, recently revealed why she decided to distance herself from Bollywood, after leaving the industry. Having expressed regret over her decision, she mentioned that she has not been in a good space with her male friends from the industry, but has not reconnected with her female friends.

Madhoo, in an interview with Radio Nasha Official, said, "I was out of touch with them for 10-12 years because when I decided to exit the film industry, I decided that I didn’t want any contact with the industry guys. I don’t know why. I am not proud of that decision. I was like, ‘I am done. I need to get out of the industry,’ and that’s how I exited and so I was not in touch.”

She added, “But today, all of them are back in my zone. I just partied with Raveena and Shilpa. We get together at functions and events. We are all grown up, we are all married and we all have children. I am not in a good space with my heroes.”

Further, Madhoo said that she got busy with her personal life after quitting the industry. However, five years post-quitting, the actor mentioned that she realised she was not meant to be a homemaker.

Madhoo, who rose to fame with Mani Ratnam's Roja, was last seen in Shaakuntalam, the Samantha-starrer. She played the role of Menaka in the film.
