8 years of Piku: If I could relive this experience all over again, I’d do it in a heartbeat, says Deepika Padukone

Piku, the 2015 comedy-drama, directed by Shoojit Sircar marked the 8-year milestone on Monday. The film features Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and the late actor Irfan Khan. 

Deepika took to her Instagram handle to share a few images from the film. She wrote, "It’s been 8 years since this gem of a movie released with these 2 very special people. And if I could relive this experience all over again, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Irfan, I miss you! Amitabh Bachchan, Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi, I love you! To everyone who made this film possible, thank you for your energy."

Written by Juhi Chaturvedi, the film is loosely based on a  Bengali short film, Pikoo, by Satyajit Ray. Deepika plays the titular role, of Piku, an architect, and the story unfolds with the exploration of their relationship through fights and their contrasting ideas. Irfan plays the Taxi driver, and his rapport with Piku evolves as the three go on a road trip from Kolkata.
