Veteran actor- director Satish Kaushik passed away on Thursday. He was 66. Satish  died after suffering a heart attack on way to the hospital, reports stated. His close friend actor Anupam Kher took to Twitter today to write a heartfelt note remembering the late actor-director.

“I know "death is the ultimate truth of this world!" But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti," he tweeted in Hindi.

Calling him her “biggest cheerleader” and a “kind and genuine man”, actor Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director #SatishKaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti.”

Director Madhur Bhandarkar expressed shock.“I am so shocked to hear the demise of actor-director Satish Kaushik ji, who was always vibrant, energetic and full of life, he will be missed immensely by the film fraternity & millions of admires, My deepest condolences to his family members. #OmShanti," he tweeted.

Satish was an alumni National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India. He is famously known for for his role as “Calendar” in Mr. India (1985). He made his acting debut in 1983 with Kundan Shah’s Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro for which he also wrote the dialogues. When it comes to directorial credits, Satish helmed films like Roop Ki Rani Choro Ka Raja (1993), Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hain (2001) and Tere Naam (2003).
