Gulmohar, the family drama directed by Rahul V Chittella, is all set to premiere at the 20th Indian Film Festival Stuttgart in July in Germany.

The film which is currently streaming on Hotstar opened to positive reviews. About the latest festival premiere, the director said, "I'm so excited that Gulmohar has been chosen to open the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Stuttgart, which is in its 20th year of championing soulful stories from our part of the world in Germany. My previous film, Azaad, won the best short at the festival in 2017, and it's lovely to go back to the festival with a film as special as Gulmohar."

He continued, "It is truly heartening to see all the love and appreciation pouring in from all corners of the globe, and seeing this special film about family and home resonates so deeply with audiences worldwide."

It may be noted that the film was screened in New York last month. Gulmohar tells the story of the Batra family. The story has woven through the nuances of joy and angst of the Batras. An excerpt from a Cinema Express review reads, "Like all families, the Batras have their long-kept secrets, their boiling feuds, and their unsaid apologies. Director Rahul V. Chittela and writer Arpita Mukherjee’s screenplay weaves all of it together meticulously, like a garland of night-flowering jasmines. The writing is encompassing and leaves no character thin." The film stars Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee, Amol Palekar, Suraj Sharma and Chandan Roy.
