Prateik Babbar joins the cast of Lioness

The film also stars Aditi Rao Hyderi and Paige Sandhu in prominent roles

Earlier, we reported that actor Aditi Rao Hyderi was cast in the first UK-India co-production Lioness, along with Indian-origin British actress Paige Sandhu. The latest update is that actor Prateik Babbar has also joined the cast. The actor will be essaying the role of a Sikh. The film is credited as the first official India-UK co-production under a treaty signed in 2008. 

Directed by Kajri Babbar as her maiden feature, Lioness follows the story of two British women living in the UK a century apart. One story is based on a historical figure, Princess Sophia Duleep Singh. Paige Sandhu will be essaying the role, while Aditi tapped in to portray a fictional character named Mehak, an immigrant woman living in London.

Lioness is produced by Vivek Rangachari, Vaishali Paatil, Faraz Ahsan and Clare Cahill, with Ajit Pal Singh as executive producer. The film is currently in pre-production and is slated to start shooting by the end of this year in London. 

Meanwhile, Prateik Babbar was last seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's India Lockdown.
