Disney+ Hotstar's Commando spinoff series gets release date

On Monday, Disney+ Hotstar announced the release date of their upcoming Commando series. The series is a spinoff of the Commando film franchise, produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, and starring Vidyut Jammwal in the lead. The Commando series, which stars debutant Prem in the lead, is all set to premiere on the platform on August 11. 

The streaming platform also released the trailer of the series. The trailer of Commando starts by showing Pakistan developing a very dangerous bioweapon in the form of a virus. An Indian spy, Kshitij (Vaibhav Tatwawadi) travels to Pakistan to ensure India's safety but gets caught by the officials there. The Indian RAW then decide to send Virat (Prem) and Bhavana Reddy (Adah Sharma), to bring Kshitij back safely. 

The new action-thriller spinoff is all set to star Prem along with actor Adah Sharma, who played Bhavna Reddy in the film series. Helmed by Vipul, the Commando series will mark the reunion of the filmmaker and Adah, after The Kerala Story.

The series will also star Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Shreya Singh Chaudhry, Amit Sial, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ishteyak Khan and Mukesh Chhabra in pivotal roles. Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd has produced the series along with Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
