Ankur Bhatia: It brings me immense happiness and excitement to reunite with Sushmita

The duo, who have already acted together in Aarya, will next be sharing screenspace in Taali

Sushmita Sen's Taali is gearing up for its premiere on Jio Cinema on August 15. While Sushmita Sen is all set to essay the role of a transgender activist, her Aarya costar, Ankur Bhatia, will also be seen in an important role in the series. 

Ankur, who has played Sushmita's sibling in Aarya, is all set to break barriers by essaying the role of a Gay activist in the upcoming series. Taali is a biographical drama series that will chronicle the life of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. 

As per a report on IANS, Ankur recently said, "It brought me immense happiness and excitement to reunite with Sushmita after Aarya, and especially on this kind of a subject that carries such an important message." Also revealing that he will be playing Navin, a gay rights activist, he further said, "My character is the biggest supporter of Gauri Sawant, played by Sushmita Sen."

National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav, who has previously helmed the highly acclaimed Natarang and Nude, is the director of Taali. The series is written by Kshitij Patwardhan, and created by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar, who are also backing Taali alongside Afeefa Nadiadwala.

Apart from Sushmita and Ankur Bhatia, Krutika Deo, Suvrat Joshi, Vikram Bham, Hemangii Kavi, Vijay Vikram, and Aishwarya Narkar round out the cast of Taali
