Rakul Preet Singh starrer Chhatriwali will release directly on ZEE5 on January 20, the makers announced. Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the film is a comedy about sexual well being and the stigma surrounding condoms. It also features Sumeet Vyas.

Set in Haryana, Chhatriwali stars Rakul as the quality control head in a condom factory. Though she is shy and embarrassed about her job initially, she soon realises the importance of safe sex and takes it upon herself to destigmatise the conversation around sex education.

The direct-to-digital release is produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies. Starring Rakul and Sumeet in lead roles, Chhatriwali aims to drive home 'a strong social message on the importance of male contraceptives and safe sex.'

A conceptual motion poster shows Rakul teaching a sex education class, with the male and female reproductive systems drawn on the blackboard.
