Pen Studios acquires Hindi distribution rights of Suriya 42: Reports

Bollywood-based Pen Studios has acquired the Hindi distribution rights of Suriya 42, reports state. 

Suriya 42, a large-scale period action adventure, is being directed by Siva. The film stars Tamil star Suriya in his 42nd outing alongside Bollywood actor Disha Patani. 

According to a report in Pinkvilla, producer Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios has acquired the theatrical, satellite and digital rights for the Hindi version of Suriya 42. The portal, quoting a source, revealed that the deal has been inked for Rs 100 crore, making it one of the most expensive distribution buys between Bollywood and Tamil cinema. 

For the unversed, Pen Studios has been leading the charge of epic Pan-India releases in the country. They released the global blockbuster RRR in Northern territories last year. They also distributed Ponniyin Selvan-1 - Hindi in the north. 

Produced by UV Creations and Studio Green, Suriya 42 will release in 3D across ten languages. Adi Narayana has scripted the film with dialogue by Madan Karky. It has music by Devi Sri Prasad, and cinematography by Siva's frequent collaborator, Vetri Palanisamy.
