12 years of Tanu Weds Manu: The film is relatable even today, says director Anand L Rai

The film starred Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles

Tanu Weds Manu, the 2011 romantic comedy film starring Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut, marked 12 years of its release on Saturday. On the occasion, the film's director Anand L Rai expressed his gratitude to the audience for showering love on the film. 


According to IANS, speaking about the film, the director said, "The response this beautiful story received is unmatched. The film is still relatable to a wide audience even today & that's what a beautiful story does. It leaves an impact every time. I can't believe the film has completed twelve years today. Gratitude only for all the love and support."

It may be noted that the film had its sequel in 2015 titled Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Meanwhile, Aanand's latest venture into regional cinema with 'Aatmapamphlet' was recently screened at the Berlin Film Festival.
