69th National Film Awards: Alia Bhatt pens heartfelt note on her first win 

She won under the category Best Actor (Female) for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi

Alia Bhatt won the National Film Award under the Best Actor (Female) category for her performance in Hindi film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actor, who shared the award with Kriti Sanon for Mimi, penned a note on her win.

"To Sanjay sir, to the entire crew, to my family and to my team, and last but most definitely not the least, to my audience. This national award is yours because without you all none of this would be possible, seriously,” Alia wrote on social media.

“I am SO grateful. I do not take moments like these lightly.. I hope to continue to entertain for as long as I can," the actor added as she signed off as Gangu alias Alia.

Alia also passed her wishes to Kriti Sanon and recollected how she messaged the actor after seeing her in Mimi. "It was such an honest and powerful performance.. I cried and cried.. so so well deserved.. shine on you star… the world is your oyster,” Alia wished.

It Is to be noted that for both Alia and Kriti, this marks their first National Film Award. While Alia played the role of a sex worker in Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kriti essayed the role of a surrogate mother who is left to raise the child after the couple elopes.
