OMG 2 is currently doing well in theatres. For the unversed, the makers of the film hoped for a U/A certificate for OMG 2, (it got an A certificate) so that children above the age of 12 years can watch the film under parental guidance. They deemed it to be necessary as the film talks about sex education among teenagers.

In a recent interview with PTI, director Amit Rai said that the film will be available without any cuts and censorship on OTT. He said, "We were heartbroken because we made the film for everyone to watch, now that cannot happen. We begged them to give us a U/A certificate but they didn't. We tried to convince them till the very end. But then they walked some distance, we walked some distance. The film has been released with modifications."

Speaking about the film's OTT release, he further added, "We are happy people have loved the film. The intent of the film was pure. Nobody wanted to titillate the audience, hence they liked it. We have dealt with it in a way that doesn't sound vulgar. We talk about the reality but in a sweet and humorous way."

OMG 2 stars Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Kumar, and Yami Gautam Dhar in lead roles. The film theatres on August 11 and opened to favourable reviews.

OMG 2 is produced by Akshay’s Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios, Swaroop Paresh Rawal, Hemal A. Thakkar, Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde and Rajesh Bahl. Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi (director of Samrat Prithviraj, 2022) serves as creative producer on the project.
