The makers of Khichdi: The Movie, on Friday announced that the film's sequel Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan, will release for Diwali. Khichdi: The Movie (2010) follows the shenanigans of the Parekh family—led by Himanshu, Hansa, Babuji and Praful. 

The makers also released a teaser of Khichdi 2 which shows Farah Khan in an extended cameo, similar to her cameo in the original. The teaser of the sequel shows the family getting themselves caught in a new hilarious adventure. 

Initially started out as a stage play, Khichdi went on to become a web series, and then a film. An adventure comedy, the sequel will now release 13 years after the first film. Written and directed by  Aatish Kapadia, the film is produced by Hatsoff Productions. 

The cast of Khichdi 2 includes Supriya Pathak Kapoor, Rajeev Mehta, Kriti Kulhari, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak and Jamnadas Majethia, among others.
