Ayushmann Khurrana, who is coming up with the comedy Dream Girl 2, at the trailer launch of the film spoke about the box office failures of his recent releases. The actor’s previous films: An Action Hero (2022), Doctor G (2022), Anek (2022) and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021), failed to perform commercially.

Talking particularly about An Action Hero, Ayushmann said, “It’s all about the timing. The universe is like a jigsaw puzzle and sometimes you just need to fit into it. That timing was not right maybe.”

“I think in the long term a good film gets its due. Like Lamhe (1991), when it was released, it had flopped but then it became everybody’s favourite film. So, I guess there is always a people’s favourite film which gets love eventually,” he added.

Apart from Ayushmann, Dream Girl 2 has an ensemble cast of Ananya Panday, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Abhishek Banerjee and Manjot.

The film, a sequel to the 2019 film Dream Girl, is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The film will be released in theatres on August 25.
