Abhishek Sharma working on an espionage thriller on Wuhan lab leak theory

Director Abhishek Sharma, known for helming films like Ram Setu (2022) and Parmanu (2018), is now working on an espionage-thriller set in the backdrop of the theory of coronavirus leak from a lab in China’s Wuhan.

“Abhishek Sharma has finished the script for his next film which is an espionage thriller set in the backdrop of when the Wuhan virus became a global issue. It's not a movie on the pandemic but instead a larger-than-life action drama that uncovers the origin story of the Coronavirus. Not much has been revealed but as per the people in the industry, it is a large-scale pan India film that intends to investigate the Wuhan lab leak theory with a thrilling narrative,” stated a source.

Talking about the film’s producer the source shared, “We hear that Mahaveer Jain has come on board to produce this movie. Mahaveer and Abhishek have a great collaboration since Ram Setu.”

Abhishek started his directorial career with the 2010 terrorist-comedy Tere Bin Laden. In the past he has helmed films like The Shaukeens (2014), The Zoya Factor (2019) and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari (2020).

Mahaveer Jain on the other hand has backed movies such as Uunchai (2022), Ram Setu and Good Luck Jerry (2022), among others.
