Amitabh Bachchan remembered his friend late actor Vikram Gokhale and famous television host Tabassum in his blog post on Sunday. Vikram Gokhale died of multiple organ failure on November 26, while Tabassum suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on November 19.

Expressing his sadness over the demise of “friends, colleagues and artists of huge merit,” Bachchan wrote, “ the days are lined with sadness... friends and colleagues... artists of huge merit, leave us day by day... and we listen see and pray... Tabassum... Vikram Gokhale and some dear ones that are close and known… they came to us in our lives... they played their parts and left the stage empty forlorn and desolate by their absence…"

Bachchan and Vikram Gokhale had worked together in Agneepath (1990), Khuda Gawah (1992) and recently in the Marathi film AB Ani CD (2020).

Bachchan also helped the late actor at one of his lowest phases in life. In an interview, Vikram Gokhale had shared he got him a house when he had no roof over his head in Mumbai.

Tabassum, known for her work as a child artiste in several Hindi classics such as Baiju Bawra and Mughal-e-Azam, and also as host of popular Doordarshan talk show Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan, died last week. She was 78.
