Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has joined hands with United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to raise awareness on children's rights.

The actor recently shared a video of his participation at an event organised by UNICEF, which also saw the presence of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Both of them played football with a bunch of budding players.

Speaking at the event he said, "I saw some extreme talent in you kids. The most special part is also the greatest of all times Sachin Tendulkar sir is with us. Thank you, UNICEF for making this relentless and earnest effort towards the upliftment of the children. Thank you so much."

In an IANS statement, he mentioned, "We must all make sure that discrimination based on gender becomes a thing of the past and that every girl is treated with the same value and worth by her family and community as any boy. We can begin by disrupting gender stereotypes in our own lives. Small changes add up over time to make things better,"

It may be noted that several other celebrities including David Beckham, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Ramos, Andriy Shevchenko, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Cafu have joined the initiative.

"As the face of UNICEF's global campaign, EVAC - ending violence against children - I have been working for the past two years to raise awareness on child rights. It is amazing to see these huge global icons join this initiative to bring to light how gender discrimination must be put an end to have a better society across countries," he concluded. On the work front, Ayushmann will be next seen in An Action Hero, which will release on December 2.
