Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios acquire remake rights to Hridayam

The Malayalam coming-of-age film will be remade in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu

Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios have acquired the rights to Hridayam in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Released this year, the Malayalam-language film told the coming-of-age story of Arun (played by Pranav Mohanlal). The film was written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan and produced by Merryland Cinemas.

"Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios have acquired the rights for a beautiful coming-of-age love story, Hridayam (Hindi, Tamil and Telugu), from the world of Malayalam Cinema," the makers said in a statement. "Extending our gratitude to Mr. Visakh Subramaniam and Merryland Cinemas. Stay tuned for more updates!"

Incidentally, Dharma's upcoming film, Selfiee, starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, is also a remake of a Malayalam film (Driving Licence).
