Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj to digitally premiere on this date

After its theatrical run of one month, Akshay Kumar’s historical action-drama Samrat Prithviraj, is set to premiere digitally on Amazon Prime Video on Friday (July 1).

The film released in theatres on June 3. According to the streaming platform, the Hindi film will be made available in Tamil and Telugu as well. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films, Samrat Prithviraj features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chillar, Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt, Sakshi Talwar, among others.

It is to be noted that after Bunty Aur Babli 2 and Jayeshbhai JordaarSamrat Prithviraj is the third film to be premiered on Prime Video from the licensing deal with Yash Raj Films (YRF).

In the film, Akshay Kumar essays the titular role of one of the notable rulers of Indian history — Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chahamana dynasty. The film is based on epic poem ‘Prithviraj Raso’, written by poet Chand Vardai.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will be seen in a slew of upcoming projects, including Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, and untitled Hindi remake of Tamil film Soorarai  Pottru.
