It has been announced that Shahid Kapoor's Jersey will release in theatres on April 14. The news comes on the back of the postponement of Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha from April 14 to August 11.

Shahid took to Twitter to share the announcement. "So so happy to announce that our beloved film Jersey will be releasing worldwide in theatres on the 14th of April 2022. See you in the theatres."

The film was initially scheduled to hit the marquee on December 31, but was postponed due to the restrictions that came into place back then. Jersey was one of the major films to postpone to its theatre release.

A remake of the Telugu film by the same name, Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, and Rohit Kamra in supporting roles. Gowtam Tinnanuri, who directed the 2019 original, is also helming the remake.

The film is bankrolled by Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films.
