John Abraham has penned a note thanking fans for appreciating his new film, Attack. His note comes amid reports of the film, a sci-fi actioner, tanking at the box office.

Attack tells the story of Arjun Shergill (John), a soldier with advanced cybernetic implants. The film, directed by Lakshya Raj Anand, sees Arjun single-handedly foil a terror attack on the Indian Parliament.

"Whatever appreciation we have received for this film, a big thank you to the audience for accepting something that's new and different. 'Attack' was an honest, humble experiment on our part to give the industry something refreshing and new," John wrote.

The actor said it was tough finishing the film through the pandemic.

"It was challenging through the 3 pandemic waves but we got what we wanted, I completely own and am proud of this film. I stand by the honest effort every team member has taken on ATTACK," John added.

Attack also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez. It was released theatrically on April 1.
