Hansal Mehta, Juhi Chaturvedi among panelists at DIFF special programmes

The festival has added a lineup of live talks, roundtables and a post-production lab

The 10th edition of Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) goes online from November 4 to 10, 2021.

Besides film screenings, DIFF has announced a curated lineup of live talks, roundtables and a post-production lab as part of the festival’s special programming.

Hansal Mehta and screenwriter Juhi Chaturvedi will be a part of a panel focusing on negotiating the fast-evolving OTT environment, and how it has changed the independent filmmaking landscape. It will be moderated by Raja Sen.

Directors Anup Singh and Pushpendra Singh will be in conversation about their respective films and careers––including Pushpendra Singh’s Laila Aur Satt Geet, screening at DIFF 2021. They will also discuss the challenges of finding financing and distribution, and the future of independent cinema.

Festival Director Ritu Sarin said, “Our team is thrilled to announce DIIF’s special programming events that will interactively engage with filmmakers and film-lovers more than ever before. Both emerging and established filmmakers are sure to find great value in these in-depth conversations with a range of industry professionals. These timely discussions will explore best practices in the field, social movements in film, modern technological developments in cinema, and more.”
