Theatres in Delhi to be closed to curb spread of Omicron COVID-19

With Omicron COVID-19 cases increasing rapidly in the capital, the Delhi government has passed the order to shut down cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes as a part of the newly imposed restrictions,

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a high-level meeting earlier today and imposed new restrictions under the government's Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which aims to control the spread of infections. The government is also enforcing Level-1 Yellow alert under the plan.

This comes a day after the capital recorded 331 new COVID-19 cases, the highest one-day rise in six months.

The announcement is expected the run of films like 83, Sooryavanshi, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Pushpa, and upcoming Jersey and RRR.
