Ali Fazal joins Gerard Butler in Ric Roman Waugh’s action thriller Kandahar

After Victoria and Abdul and Death On The Nile, Ali Fazal has bagged his next Hollywood film. The actor will join Ric Roman Waugh's action thriller Kandahar, starring Gerard Butler.

The film is based on a screenplay Ric developed with former military intelligence officer Mitchell LaFortune. The story is based on Mitchell's experiences at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in Afghanistan. The film’s shoot is expected to begin soon in Saudi Arabia. 

"I always look forward to new and exciting ventures. We are all set to begin production soon," Ali said. 

Ric Waugh has previously directed the films Angel Has Fallen, Felon, Greenland and the upcoming National Champions with JK Simmons. Kandahar is being produced by Thunder Road Films (John Wick, Sicario).

Ali's upcoming Hollywood release is Death On The Nile, opening in February 2022. He will also star in Vishal Bhardwaj's Khufiya
