For Kelsey Parker, the arrival of a new baby comes with emotions that are impossible to separate from the losses her family has endured. The widow of The Wanted singer Tom Parker has spent the past few years navigating grief while raising their two children and gradually rebuilding her life with partner Will Lindsay.
The latest chapter also follows the loss of her son Phoenix, whom she shared with Lindsay. Phoenix was stillborn in June 2025, after which Kelsey spoke openly about grief, motherhood and the difficulty of moving forward while continuing to carry the memory of those she had lost
Kelsey has now welcomed a baby girl with Lindsay and introduced her as River. Sharing a picture of the newborn's arm beside a pink name board on Instagram, she wrote, “Welcome to the world, River. Our little bit of hope.”
The arrival comes nearly a year after the stillbirth of Phoenix and four years after Tom's death in March 2022. Kelsey had announced the latest pregnancy in May, describing the baby as a “rainbow baby” and saying that, despite the heartbreak, it felt as though Tom and Phoenix had sent her “another little gift from heaven”.
In the weeks leading up to the birth, Kelsey had spoken about the conflicting emotions surrounding the pregnancy. Writing on Instagram shortly before River's arrival, she said that waiting felt different after experiencing loss, with “hope and fear existing in the same place”. She added that being positive did not necessarily mean being unafraid, but rather allowing herself to believe that something beautiful could still come.
Kelsey shares six-year-old Aurelia and four-year-old Bodhi with Tom. She had previously spoken about how welcoming another child would not diminish the family's love for Tom, with Lindsay becoming an important part of the children's lives after the singer's death. The birth has since drawn congratulatory messages from several public figures, including The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes, presenter Susanna Reid and reality television personality Holly Hagan-Blyth.
