Confirming speculations of the past few months, streamer Netflix has confirmed that The Inbetweeners 3 is official, with the original cast returning. Makers of the film, which is a sequel to the 2011 and 2014 films, announced that it has entered production. The films are derived from the 2008-2010 coming-of-age British sitcom of the same name.

The 2008-2010 show follows the misadventures of a suburban teenager, Will McKenzie, and his friends Simon Cooper, Jay Cartwright, and Neil Sutherland. Produced by Claire Jones, along with Patrick Holland and Mark Lesbirel, The Inbetweeners creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris are returning to write The Inbetweeners 3. Actors Simon Bird, Blake Harrison, James Buckley, and Joe Thomas are set to reprise the roles they played in the show and films.

Speaking about the upcoming film, Beesley said, "It's been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we're going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans."

The record-breaking three-season show created for Channel 4 resulted in two films in 2011 and 2014. While the first film features the four friends finishing school and trying to navigate life after that, the second film has them reuniting for a holiday in Australia.
