Canadian actor Evangeline Lilly, best known for her work in Lost and Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp publicly opened up about stepping away from her Hollywood film career. She talked about how she was never comfortable with the fame that came with being an actor despite the wealth and power it brought her.

In an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), she mentioned that the decision did not come without fear and was made with great conviction. While her career brought wealth, power and influence, she has always disliked being famous." When you're successful at something, it feels really good when the world says,' We love you! You're amazing!' Like, this is a wonderful feeling. How do you walk away from that?, "said Lilly, stating that it was not an easy choice. She also expressed her interest in humanitarian work and mentioned about her service in Rwanda for 22 years.

"I love telling stories, but I'd like to tell stories of my own instead of being in front of the camera. I'd much prefer a quieter position. I've always hated being famous. I never made any secrets about that. I've always said being famous is the cost of the wealth that you can get as an actor. Like that's what you pay for - the weath," said Lilly. She added feels liberated now and has put her trust in God and believes God has a plan for her.

The actor who has two children with Norman Kali, despite stepping away from Hollywood, has a lot to look back on from her years in the industry. Some of her other notable works include The Hurt Locker as Connie James, Real Steel as Bailey Tallet and The Hobbit series. She starred in the famous Ant-Man franchise of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Hope Van Dyne. Additionally, she is also an author of an ongoing children's book series.
