Writer-showrunner Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z) is developing a new sci-fi thriller, Zero Hour, with Paramount Television Studios and AGBO. The upcoming series is based on Harrison Query's short story. This is Query’s fourth story that got sold recently after Trigger Point, Code Black, and The Murder of JonBenet Ramsey.
The series marks the reunion between Carnahan and Anthony and Joe Russo's AGBO after the filmmaker's directorial debut, Mosul. Zero Hour, which Carnahan has also penned, follows how the world drastically changes when mysterious ovals appear in the sky. The story then turns to a wife who fights to keep her husband alive, teenage runaways caught in a bank robbery, a doomsday prepper runs against time to safeguard his family, and a young presidential aide trying to wrap their head around this phenomenon.
This occurrence eventually changes the available knowledge about extraterrestrial beings, upending everything humanity knew about the first contact. Carnahan has also penned scripts for Lion for Lambs, State of Play, Deepwater Horizon, and Dark Waters.
