Dev Patel's action-thriller The Peasant wraps filming in India

The Peasant is written, directed and produced by Dev Patel in his sophomore directorial

Dev Patel's revenge-action thriller The Peasant from A24 has completed filming in India. Interestingly, it is the the studio's first film to be shot in the country.

Along with Dev Patel, Christian Friedel (The Zone of Interest), Sebastian Bull (Sons), Saurabh Sachdeva (Animal), Anasuya Sengupta (The Shameless) and Vipin Sharma (Monkey Man) are also part of the cast.

Written and directed by the Lion actor in his sophomore directorial, The Peasant "follows a 14th-century shepherd seeking revenge against mercenaries who ravaged his community. As he hunts them down, his true nature emerges."

The film has been shot in noted Indian cities like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Besides writing and directing, Dev Patel also serves as the producer through his Minor Realm banner along with Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Charlie Morrison for Thunder Road Pictures and A24.

The Peasant marks a reunion for Patel and Thunder Road Pictures after Monkey Man, which marked his directorial debut.

Graham Taylor, Chris Rice, Christopher Slager, and Dan Guando for Fifth Season, Shivani Rawat and Julie Goldstein for ShivHans Pictures, Sherrese Clark and Niija Kuykendall for HarbourView, and Will Dunn serve as executive producers.
