Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg, whose upcoming film Disclosure Day releases in theatres on June 12, shares the making experience of the sci-fi film. Spielberg said, “I wanted that to begin from the very first frame and conclude in a 20-minute finale that would bring everyone to a united epiphany about what has been happening in the world, what has been kept from us and what we now know.”

Further discussing the scale and his vision to build an immersive cinematic experience with the world-building, Spielberg shared that he thought that this story required a "couple of jet engines strapped onto it and that it needed to take the audience on a ride that would blow their hair back."

Joining him, actor Colman Domingo, who plays Hugo Wakefield, said that the film's foundation is laid on the revelation of a hidden truth and the consequences it accompanies. “The movie hinges on the idea that a profound truth has been kept secret from the world, and the conflict of the movie is rooted in a disagreement over what we risk if this truth was made known. Complicating the debate is the fact that it has been kept secret for a very long time, and in that time, people have become even more invested in keeping that truth a secret because they are too invested in the lives and world they have built." Domingo is joined by a stellar star cast of Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Josh O'Connor, Wyatt Russell, Eve Hewson, among others.

The film, marking Spielberg's return to a story on aliens after War of the Worlds (2005), follows the story of a "Kansas City meteorologist and a young whistleblower who uncover proof of extraterrestrial contact, forcing them to choose between revealing the truth to the world or keeping it hidden forever."

Speilberg produces the film under his Amblin Entertainment banner. Kristie Macosko Krieger is also producing the film.
