Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt are back as fashion magazine journalists in The Devil Wears Prada 2, a sequel to their classic 2006 film. Directed by David Frankel, who also helmed the 2006 original, the film has opened to mostly positive reviews from critics. Reportedly, it has grossed more in its opening day as compared to the recent Michael Jackson biopic, starring the iconic pop singer's nephew, actor Jaafar Jackson.

At the India box office, the film has earned a gross collection of 12.83 crore so far, according to data from the industry tracker Sacnilk. On this Sunday alone, it has minted 1.24 crore. As of writing this, the film's India net collection stands at 10.74 crore, according to Sacnilk data.

While the box office collection of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on the first three days in India do not exceed that of Michael, its release day collection is more than that of the King of Biopic biopic from an international perspective.

According to multiple reports, the The Devil Wears Prada sequel earned a little over $30 million from theatres worldwide on its release day and has now crossed 110 million.

Coming back to the India box office, according to Sacnilk, there has been a significant drop in the number of shows for the film across the country. The tracker's data shows that the show count for the film dropped from 1,611 on Saturday to 627 on Sunday. The National Capital Region has the highest number of shows for it, whereas Kochi has the least shows, according to Sacnilk data.

In the film, the characters of Streep, Blunt, and Hathaway deal with a changing industry in NYC, as they try to balance timeless fashion with the competitive world of digital ambition.
