The Housemaid's Secret, a sequel to Sydney Sweeney and Paul Feig's The Housemaid, will open in theatres on December 17, 2026. With this release date, the film will hit theatres alongside Avengers: Secret Wars and Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. The release date will mark two years of the release of the first film.

Kirsten Dunst was recently announced to have joined the film's cast. The film is an adaptation of Freida McFadden's novel of the same name, which marked the second book in her Housemaid series. The second book in the novel series follows Millie Calloway, played by Sydney Sweeney in the film, who becomes an attendant at an affluent couple's penthouse. When she is not permitted to meet her employer, Wendy Garrick, Calloway starts to suspect her husband.

The Housemaid's Secret is directed by Feig from a screenplay by Rebecca Sonnenshine, who also wrote the first part. Also returning for the film is Michele Morrone, who reprises his role as a groundskeeper named Enzo Accardi. The movie is produced by Feig himself alongside Laura Fischer, in addition to Sydney Sweeney of Fifty-Fifty Films and Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures. The film will begin production later this year.

In The Housemaid, Sweeney stars as Millie, a woman who is trying to escape her past. She accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous – a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Elizabeth Perkins also stars in a key role in the film, which has turned out to be a commercial success at the box office, becoming Sweeney's biggest box office hit. The film is currently streaming on Prime Video in India.
